Maison de négoce

Among the wine producers in the Rhône Valley, we distinguish between independant wineries, cooperative wineries, and maisons de négoce (merchants).

The profession of a négociant consists of selecting and purchasing grapes and/or wines from winegrowers, vinifying them, aging the wines, and marketing them under their own brand. They may also own vineyards. Négociants play a crucial role in marketing our region's wines. They build strong, internationally recognized brands.
