Formerly known as Moustardier in the old vineyards of Gigondas and Tavel, it is nowadays very little cultivated. In the blend it gives fruity and spicy notes.

Ampelography: Many small leaves

Bunch and berries: Medium clusters with large berries. Even when ripe, full coloring of the berries is difficult to obtain.

Maturity: Mid- to late-ripening

Characteristics: Quite productive grape variety, with moderate potential alcohol levels when ripe.

Terroir: All soil types

In the cellars

Characteristics: The wine obtained with Counoise is lightly colored, fine and fruity. It has aromas of fruits, flowers and spices. Its light character can be an asset in blending rosé wines.
