Cooperative winery
Among the wine producers in the Rhône Valley, we distinguish between private wineries, cooperative wineries, and wine merchants.
A cooperative winery is a group of winegrowers of varying sizes. As members of the winery, the winegrowers are also its owners. Each entrusts their grapes to the winery, which are vinified and marketed under the winery's brand. In our region, cooperatives play a leading role in production (one bottle out of every six sold) and enjoy an excellent reputation.
